South Maui Golf Trip – Wailea Blue Course

South Maui Golf Trip – Wailea Blue Course

Hi there. Welcome back.

This is the fifth video in my Maui Golf Vacation series.

Wailea Blue Course Vlog

If you’ve missed any of the previous videos, I’ve included the links to the videos below. The previous videos give you everything you need to know about planning and arriving in Maui.

Today we’re going to review the Wailea Blue Course. This is the last of the Wailea resort courses included in this series.

When you arrive at the Wailea Blue Course, there is a bag drop where attendants can grab your bags and get you all loaded up. The Blue Course has its own Pro Shop, where you’ll check in. The shop is well equipped and renting clubs here is no problem. The attendants are all very friendly and helpful.

The Wailea Blue course is the least expensive of the Wailea courses. This course has no driving range. There is a warm-up area where you can hit into a net. I’m not too fond of this. You could drive over to the other courses, use the driving range, and then go back to the Blue Course. Not ideal. There is a practice putting green on the Blue course.

The Blue course has lots of wide-open fairways. This course is more forgiving for those who are challenged on narrow fairways. Don’t get me wrong; the Blue course is not easy. There are plenty of hazards to avoid. Just like the other two Wailea courses, the Blue Course has an abundance of beautiful ocean views. There are some entertaining holes on this course, long fairways with significant elevation changes.

There is a concession cart on the Blue Course. The service team is top-notch. Dale was working the days we played the Blue Course, and she is excellent.

The course has restrooms accessible on holes 2, 6, and 10. You do pass by the clubhouse and Mulligans. Lot’s of opportunities to make pit stops.

I’ll include a link to the scorecard for those of you who want course stats. Wailea Blue Course Scorecard

After golf, you can go to Manolis Pizza Company Manolis Menu or Mulligans on the Blue Course for lunch Mulligans Menu Both are close. Manolis is right where you drop off your cart, Mulligan’s you’ll need to drive to. Check the hours to confirm they’ll be open for lunch. We were surprised a couple of times. Both have pretty good food at reasonable prices. The atmosphere at Manolis is nicer than Mulligans. Manolis overlooks the Blue Course, and the restaurant is entirely open and beautiful. Mulligans on the Blue is a bit rough on the surface, but the food and the service are good.

Maui Day trips:

  • The Redline Rafting Company snorkeling trip is one we take every time we bring guests with us. We’ve enjoyed this excursion at least a dozen times. Be sure to book the five-hour tour. It’s not much more than the two-hour, and the experience is 100% worth the extra cost. Your adventure is on a red pontoon boat, with a maximum capacity of 14, that launches out of the launch ramp in Kihei, which is close—no getting up at the crack of dawn to drive 30-40 minutes to board a packed boat. The crew on the Redline is always great, and they take you to snorkeling spots that the larger vessels don’t.
    • Bring a towel per person, sunblock (not the spray kind), and a disposable underwater camera. These are sold at most stores in Maui. You’ll also want to bring a little cash to tip the crew. 😉
    • The crew provides passengers with wetsuits, lifejackets, floating devices, snorkeling gear, really everything you need to be most comfortable in the water.
    • You are given a light breakfast in the morning, sticky buns and fruit, and a nice lunch later in the day. Lunch consists of a sandwich, salads, and fruit.
    • The boat stops first at Molokini’s front side and then the back. Most of the other excursions skip the backside. I love the backside, it’s an entirely different experience, and you see sea life that you don’t see anywhere else.
    • The boat then moves to La Perouse Bay. Here we’ve had amazing experiences floating with the dolphins as they rest in the protected cove. There were some underwater arches that my son swam through, and there are always sea turtles nearby.
    • Turtle Town is the last stop. You are sure to see some beautiful sea life here. The crew usually sends one of their members out with the snorkelers to point out things that you might miss otherwise.
    • Depending on the time of year of your visit, you have a good chance of floating alongside a humpback whale during whale season (Dec-Mar). It’s the most awe-inspiring moment, one you’re likely never to forget. The crew must be careful about adhering to state regulations regarding the whales, but they do everything they can to make sure your day is the best.
    • I can’t say enough about the crew. They are so friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful.
    • I’ll include a link to the Redline Rafting Company website https://redlinerafting.com/

Thanks for tuning in. I hope you’re getting excited about a Maui Golf Adventure. Do me a favor and click on the thumbs up if you like this video, and let me know if you have any questions in the comments below.

Next up, we move up into the upcountry to golf one of the local’s favorite golf courses. It was an adventure I’m grateful we took. Not your “resort course,” but so special in its own way.
